Grade 2 Speech Pathologist

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our Paediatric Therapy team at Sweet Paeds Therapy!
Our beautiful, newly renovated clinic is based in Pakenham and we are looking to grow our team with a fun, compassionate and caring speech pathologist who will provide client- and family-centred support to the local community.
Sweet Paeds Therapy offers family-centred therapy services to children aged 0-21 years and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Services provided include (but are not limited to); assessments, therapy intervention, group therapy programs, and family support within the clinic and the community.
The position is flexible with days, with full time and part time hours available.
For therapists who have developed their paediatric knowledge and skills, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously, assume a senior role and provide mentorship to junior therapists in the team.
To be suitable for this position you will;
Have an Australian recognised Bachelor Degree or Masters in Speech Pathology (minimum)
Hold current full SPA registration
Have eligibility for or are a current member of Speech Therapy Australia
Have experience working in a paediatric role
Motivated and passionate to provide best practice, evidence-based assessment and intervention for children with developmental delay and disabilities, and support to their families
Willingness and enthusiasm to run children's group therapy programs, school holiday programs and parent education workshops.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates highly effective written skills during report writing and correspondence with clients, team members and other professionals
Ability to work autonomously, demonstrated organisational skills, problem-solving and time management skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of disability, learning difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, motor skills difficulties, a range developmental conditions, and child development
Demonstrates knowledge in paediatric Speech therapy practice as well as goal setting and creating therapy intervention programs
Friendly, fun and engaging!
Have knowledge of the NDIS
Provide current Working with Children Check
Provide current National Police check
Hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence
The duties of the position (including but are not limited to);
Responsible for managing a varied clinical caseload (a range of ages from birth to adulthood, and range of conditions)
Delivering services both in-clinic and community settings (homes, schools, kindergartens etc.), and delivering Telehealth as required
Administering standardised assessments and clinical observations, developing treatment plans and delivering evidence-based paediatric intervention
Developing and reviewing treatment goals
Liaising with and coordinating care with other treating healthcare professionals, educators, family members and any others
Participating in case conferencing with other treating professionals as required
Providing evidence-based recommendations and education to parents, family members and relevant educators
Evaluating the need for appropriate referrals to other disciplines in order to provide holistic, client-centred care
Recording, maintaining and providing accurate, timely documentation of client treatment and progress
Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, and other team members. Adhering to professional practice requirements, guidelines and legislation.
